The military jets stopped the pair of Russian bombers and two fighter jets near the state of Alaska today.
Two Russian Bear bombers – or Tupolev Tu-95 – and a pair of Su-35 "Flanker" fighter jets first entered Alaska's Air Defense Zone early this morning, US officials confirmed.
The plane formation was swiftly detected by two US Air Force F-22 stealth fighter jets that were already airborne taking part in a patrol, Fox News reported.
